I think this Christmas will look very different for most of us - a global pandemic isn’t something that I’ve ever related to the holidays. When I started this website 5 years ago, it was meant to be a helpful review of luxury goods and events. People always asked me about where I stayed when I visited so and so or about a concert I had attended. There hasn’t been much for travel and or live entertainment in 2020. This year has been hard on people - financially, physically, mentally and emotionally. I’ve tackled with the idea of writing this blog entry - do we really need a frivolous article about expensive holiday gifts? I was worried it might be seen as tacky in a year where so many people have experienced financial setbacks. But then I noticed something - my audience began re-reading all my past Christmas gift guides. Not just a few of you, but ALOT of you. So this gave me a slightly different outlook - maybe my readers needed a 5-minute escape from the stress of their day to look at a ridiculously priced handbag or to gush over a new fragrance. This year, let my Gift Guide be entertainment and escapism over recommendations. And if 3 years from now, you finally get to buy a pair of silly pyjamas I’m going to mention, and you love them, let me know. Daniel’s Chocolate - $5+
One of my mom’s favourite indulgences is Daniel’s chocolate and specifically their hot chocolate. It’s rich and decadent but not sickly sweet. They ship across Canada and you will not be disappointed. If you’re in Vancouver, the Robson St. store is very convenient. Definitely worth checking out!
Rowing Blazers Sweaters- $470
So with the Crown’s 4th season release, a lot of attention has gone back to the late Princess Diana. She was a fashion icon, and her style has made a resurgence with Rowing Blazers. I personally have a couple sweaters on order - both of which are from the Diana collection of the styles she actually wore. The sweaters themselves have quite a history that you can read on their site. They are making them for both men and women, and each sweater takes over 6 hours to create.

Years ago I was invited to a Riedel-sponsored wine tasting. Essentially, we drank the same wine out of several different wine glasses - each time, Riedel gave the best result.
